Round 1 Wrap Up, Centre Training and Relay Season Registration

We had a great start to Season 2024-25 on Saturday with the weather holding out (just) and lots of happy faces back at Dolamore. There were no records broken at Round 1 and it’s not possible to achieve a Personal Best, so nothing to report on there. We’re looking forward to the records and PBs flooding in from next round onwards. Check out our Facebook page for photos from Round 1.

Centre Training is on tomorrow afternoon from 5-6pm. It’s a free session for all Mentone registered and trial athletes, run by Coach Rupert and his team of assistants. Head on down to the track and brush up on your skills in preparation for Round 2 this Saturday.

Relays are a big deal at Mentone Little Athletics Centre, with Relay Season already upon us.

Mentone Relay Day is on Sunday 10th November this year. It’s a huge event with thousands of visitors from around our region (and beyond) joining us for a day of relay-race excitement. More info here.

Our Relay Day is quickly followed by the Southern Metro Region Relay Carnival on the 16th November and then State Relay Championships on the 14th December.

Arranging relay teams is quite a challenge, therefore it’s essential to know who is available as soon as possible.
