Cross Country Registrations now open! First round: Saturday 26. April.

The registrations for the winter Cross Country season are now open!

Existing 24/25 summer season members

Members that were registered in the 24/25 summer season members are not required to register again with LAVic as your fees do not expire until the 31st August. Current Members wishing to register for the $40 Bayside XC Program need to complete the Bayside XC Program event registration link here.

  • Please Note: You will need to have your athlete's registration number handy to complete the registration (on your chest patch).

  • If anyone has lost their chest patch, can you please advise us before Saturday to allow time for a new patch to be printed

Athletes needing to register as an LAVic member ($55 insurance) first:

New members: Will be required to either register a trial or pay the LAVic $55 registration and insurance fee, they will then be promoted in their receipt to pay the Bayside $40 fee. Register here!

Returning Cross Country Families / families returning to Little Athletics (not summer 24/25 members): Will be required to pay the LAVic $55 registration and insurance fee, they will then be promoted in their receipt to pay the Bayside $40 fee. Register here!

Please ensure you select our club ‘Mentone’ and upload your child’s proof of age. This step needs to be completed first before you can register for the Bayside competition.

Once you have registered:

Please download the Stack TeamApp and register with Bayside XC to get all the official info first hand from Jo Whittle.

Once we have confirmed registration lists, we will add any new parents to our WhatsApp Winter chat line. This will be used as main tool for communication!

Please make sure you keep and wear your centre uniform (long black sleeve tops under our Mentone shirts and black leggings can be worn) including your chest patch from the Little Athletics track and field season that’s just wrapped up. All new members will be issued with a new chest patch and will also be required to purchase a Mentone top or singlet. Please also advise if you are an existing member and need a new t-shirt/singlet. We have some jumpers available for sale as well.

Safety is paramount at all athletics events. We have had some questions already in relation to how the young athletes are kept safe in Cross Country. All younger age groups have a hare and tortoise runner (adult/senior runner at the front of the group i.e. hare and an adult/senior runner at the back of the group i.e. tortoise) in addition to field marshalls that count children as they pass sections of the track.  We haven’t lost a child yet!!

Any questions please email mentonecomp@lavic.com.au

Looking forward to seeing lots of you on the weekend! 🤗
