State Relay Championships - Wrap Up

 

We'd like to take a moment to extend a huge congratulations to our athletes who competed at the State Relay Championships just before Christmas, at Lakeside Stadium. It was a fantastic day and we're proud of all our athletes who performed brilliantly for their club and their teams.

 

Once again we had a very successful weekend, with 17 top 8 results, 7 medals and a massive 9 Any Venue Records broken.

 

Special congratulations to our State medallists. Our U9 teams competed at their first State Championships and walked away with 4 medals! Our U17's competed in their last State Relays and took home 3 medals, a fantastic achievement from these groups.

 

Gold - State Champions:

U9G - 4x100 - 1:06.96 (Nina, Tyra, Charlotte and Elise)

U9G - 4x200 - 2:23.87 (Nina, Tyra, Charlotte and Elise)

Silver:

U9G - Swedish - 3:18.86 (Nina, Tyra, Charlotte and Elise)

U17G - 4x100 - 52.51 (Sophie, Brooklyn, Mizuki and Milla)

U9 Mixed - 4x200 - 2:18.82 (Tyra, Elise, Josh and Jacob)

Bronze:

U17G - 4x200 - 1:51.63 (Sophie, Brooklyn, Mizuki and Chloe)

U17G - Swedish - 2:36.56 (Sophie, Brooklyn, Mizuki and Chloe)

 

Congratulations also to the following teams who broke Any Venue Records:

 

  • U9 girls 4x100: 1:03.96 (Nina, Tyra, Charlotte and Elise)

  • U10 girls Swedish: 3:07.72 (Ella, Eva, Frankie, Yasmine)

  • U12 girls Swedish: 2:41.6 (Summer, Persia, Taylah and Delilah)

  • U15 girls Swedish: 2:50.87 (Imogen, Morgan, Sienna, Jasmine)

  • U16 girls Swedish: 2:36.46 (Isabel, Indi, Emily and Lucille)

  • U17 girls Swedish: 2:36.56 (Sophie, Brooklyn, Mizuki and Chloe)

  • U11 boys 4x200: 2:02.27 (Hugh, Lucas, Jess, Harry)

  • U11 boys Swedish: 2:47.97 (Hugh, Lucas, Jess, Harry)

  • U12 boys Swedish: 2:40.42 (Christian, Harper, Harrison, Sebastian) 

 

As always, it wouldn’t have been possible without the assistance of our dedicated committee and parent volunteers, thanks go out to everyone who contributed. 

 

Special thanks to all of our wonderful age group managers for assembling and coaching our teams, to Rupert and his team for putting on some relay sessions to help get us ready, as well as our club Team Managers on the day, Sophie and Lucy. We couldn’t do this without you!

The State Relay Championships are on this Saturday 16th of December at Lakeside Stadium and we wish our 34 teams competing this weekend the best of luck! Families who will be attending the championships, the below links and information are relevant to the day:

 

 

IMPORTANT ATHLETE INFORMATION

Athletes, please arrive with plenty of time for parking and present at the Mentone table for a uniform check about 1 hour before your event.
The Call Room opens 30 mins before event time, and CLOSES 20 mins before event time.

Ensure the correct Centre Uniform is worn, or your relay team may be disqualified, and pay special attention to:

  • Coles patches must be sewn onto tops above the LAVic logo.

  • Registration Chest Patches are required (pinned on).

  • Shorts/ leggings must be the approved LAVic shorts or in plain black without pockets, lines, or logos larger than 4cm x 4cm.  

  • Spikes may be worn for all relay events by athletes in the U11-17 age groups only. Only conical or pyramid spikes are permitted to be worn.

 

PARENT DUTIES

Please check the Duty Roster (linked above). As always, these events can't be held your assistance and we appreciate you all doing your part on the day. Please be mindful of the following:

  • Closed-shoes are required when on duty - no thongs/sandals.

  • Please don't use your phones whilst on duty.

  • Please check-in at the Mentone tent 15 mins before your duty - don't go straight to your duty.
