2015 SMR Track and Field Championships - 21st/22nd February - UPDATED ROSTER - No Competition at Mentone

We are looking forward to another successful Region Track and Field carnival this weekend.

Following is some important information that you must be aware of:

DUTIES

Mentone Little Athletics has been allocated a large number of Key Official and General Duties role over the weekend. In registering for this event you have committed to completing a duty on each day your child competes, for each child you have registered. We have done our best to accommodate requests, and I am sure you can appreciate the work that goes into completing this roster - Thank you to those of you who have contacted Gaynor to accept your allocated duty. We are still waiting on a number of parents to confirm. The roster can be accessed via the links below so if you have not yet responded can you please do so to Gaynor.

Non completion of duties may lead to your child being unable to compete in subsequent events as well as State Track and Field Championships The scratching of these athletes will be at the discretion of the TM and Roster Co-ordinator.

If you are unable to complete your duty at an allocated time, you must find a replacement and do a swap. Then inform the Roster Co-ordinator.

You must also wear closed toe shoes - no thongs or sandals permitted - when completing your duty

ATHLETE AND PARENT CHECKIN

Please report to the Mentone Roster Co-ordinator and check in on each day prior to your events, and prior to your duty. At this time the athlete will be given their competition chest plate. It is your responsibility to ensure that this is worn for all events (and kept safe over Saturday night).

EVENT CLASHES

The TM will submit a clash form on the athletes behalf. However, if you are aware of a clash, or the events are running over time and a potential clash becomes apparent, please notify the Team Manager. The athlete will be escoted between the events by an official.

UNIFORM

Please ensure that the correct uniform is worn to the call room, and the Jetstar Badge is sewn on. We will have a limited number of spare badges available.

Please remember that athletes must wear black shorts, with no logo's or pockets. Please ask the TM or roster co-ordinator if you are unsure.

CALL ROOM

Athletes must be in the call room approx 30 mins prior to their event. It is the parent and athletes responsibility to ensure that you allow plenty of time for warming up and presenting to the call room. Unfortunately with approx 100 athletes competing from Mentone, we will not be able to do this on your behalf. If you are completing an allocated duty and are therefore unable to monitor this, please approach the TM or Roster Co-ordinator for assistance.

SCRATCHING FROM AN EVENT

If you are aware that an athlete is not competing in an event, please notify the TM so they can be removed from the call room list. This saves the call room repeatedly calling the athlete, or calling the TM, and allows heats to be merged into finals if required.

Scratchings on the day will still require the parent to complete their allocated duty.

EXTREME WEATHER

We are expecting hot and windy conditions on both Saturday and Sunday. Please ensure that the athlete (and Adults completing duties) have access to water and hats. We promote sunsmart actions for the athletes and will have plenty of tents available for shade.

If you have any concerns, please feel free to Contact me on 0408057474. I will be the Team Manager on Saturday.

I look forward to seeing you all, and the athletes and families having an enjoyable experience.
