We think (hope) the worst of the rain has passed so we are setting up now.
Please remember your masks just in case we are forced to shelter under tents, where we can't keep 1.5m distance and masks will be required.
This Saturday is Round 7, we are running Program 1 (click here).
Under 8 Families are on Set Up - please sign in with Matt or Scott at 7:30am to have your duty recorded.
Under 14-16 Families are on Pack Up - please sign out with Matt or Scott when we are finished packing up.
We will have a representative from Bendigo Bank Parkdale at the session to start handing out our $50 sponsorship certificates.
Please remember your chest patches and sewn-on red Coles patches. Jetstar patches must be removed please!
Don't forget we are still under COVID-Safe protocols - sign-in, distancing, sanitisation and face masks when indoors.
We are back in action this week with Centre Training on Wednesday evening from 5-6pm, covering High Jump, Shot Put, Sprints and our U6-U8 program, then Round 7 this Saturday. We'll send out the program for Round 7 on Thursday night.
Finally, please make sure your child has a red Coles patch sewn on to their uniform - if you don't have a patch please ask your Team Manager or come into the clubrooms on Saturday.
We're excited to announce our new partnership with Bendigo Bank Parkdale, who are offering an amazing $6000 in sponsorship to be distributed across our members who have bank accounts at the Parkdale branch. The intent of this sponsorship is to offset the cost of Athletics in these crazy times.
In addition to the standard $50 sponsorship (click the heading of this article for details), we are keeping some money in reserve to provide additional assistance to families who have been deeply impacted by the COVID crisis. We really don't want any child to be missing out on Athletics due to financial difficulties, so if you or someone you know needs more help please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Go Mentone and Go Bendigo Bank Parkdale!
Congratulations to India Buchan (U9G) for taking out the Junior Division and Sophia Pipito (U10G) for winning the Senior Division of our Santa Sprints Handicap on Sunday evening. We hope all our placegetters pick up some awesome gear for Christmas from Rebel Mentone with their prizes.
Emma Godfrey and Roger Winders showed that they've still got what it takes to win the Parents' 70m sprints, with Lyndsey and Peter Beames both bringing home the prizes in the Parents' Turbo Javelin.
Thanks to everyone for coming along to enjoy another great evening of Santa Sprints fun at Dolamore Reserve.
Have a safe and happy Christmas - see you all on January 16th when we return for Round 6.
